Meet our dyslexia team
Karen Stephens is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA) in the school. She has Accredited TA Status for supporting children with dyslexia.
Karen works with Laura Warren, our Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCO).
West Rise Junior School gained Dyslexia Friendly Status in March 2012. This means we:
- work throughout the school in a dyslexia friendly way
- aim to identify and support pupils
- screen children who may be “at risk” of being dyslexic
- follow guidance in the West Rise Junior School Dyslexia Policy
