We encourage children to develop a love of reading and to read for pleasure. We help our pupils to read fluently and with confidence.
Children acquire a wide vocabulary and an understanding of grammar. We look at the linguistic conventions for reading, writing and spoken language.
Reading is important. It encourages an appreciation of our rich and varied literacy heritage.
