RE

At West Rise, we grow respectful thinkers who…

  • know how to understand a range of religions and worldviews.
  • can express ideas and insights about the nature, significance and impact of religions and worldviews
  • gain and deploy the skills needed to engage seriously with religions and worldviews

RE (Religious Education) plays a significant role. It is key to spiritual, moral, social and
cultural development and to understanding British values.

RE enables pupils to appreciate their own and others’ beliefs and cultures.  They can see how beliefs impact on individuals and communities.

RE places specific emphasis on pupils valuing themselves and others. It helps them to develop an understanding of the significance of religion in the world today.

It also prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
