Safeguarding in school

As a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, at West Rise Junior we aim to create an environment where children can:

  • feel safe, secure and respected
  • talk openly
  • feel confident that someone will listen

West Rise Junior School are partnered with Operation Encompass.  One of the principles of Operation Encompass is to share incidents of domestic abuse with schools, not just those where an offence can be identified.

This timely information comes through to our Safeguarding team, which enables appropriate support to be provided for that child so that all interactions, from when the child first arrives at the school gates, are of a positive nature.

Do you have a child protection concern?

Our Safeguarding Lead and Deputies are Abi Meggison, Sue Poore and Laura Warren. They are your first point of contact for any concerns.
